The Minerva Centre offers a wide range of specifically tailored courses and workshops for students with mental health and learning difficulties of all ages and abilities.
The courses provide a safe, creative environment for students (friends) to learn within, and are also designed to engage the student in such a way that builds self-esteem, confidence, teamwork, pride, self & social inclusion and communication skills.
Students who produce work (products) from their course can be given the opportunity to sell it in the Minerva shop, exhibiting at Minerva’s special events such as the 'Hexham Abbey Christmas fair' and local market stall events such as 'The Farmers Market'. All of which creates high feelings of self-worth & social inclusion which all amounts to a fantastic experience through life fulfilling activities while having fun when we do it!
All Minerva courses are generally structured and follow a syllabus which can be tailored to suit individual requirements. Students will progress through different levels and shall receive a Minerva 'Certificate of Skills' on completion of each level.
