The 2 trees entwined represents unity between the two countries of Ukraine and Great Britain.
The tapestry consists of materials which were individually sewn by a fantastic group of artists, namely: Yulia Achkasova, Natalia Petry, Hanna Udoven, Kolnna Kostiurak, Kath Prandle, Paula Little, Chris Andrews, Millie Cook, Alee Ireland, Wendy Brady, Veronica DeSully, Barbara Murdy, Judith Singleton, Jenny Kirkpatrick and Lya Vollering.
The piece took over a year to produce, the subject matter are all important symbols of Northumberland and Ukraine. The Ukrainian artists fled war with their children and are placed all over Northumberland. The tapestry is currently on display in Hexham Abbey, Northumberland.
