Bird of Prey visit

On Friday 30 August Minerva students visited the Kielder Water Birds of Prey Centre at Leaplish Waterside Park on Kielder Water (www.kwbopc.com).

This trip was funded by the National Park Sustainable Development Fund and transport was provided by ADAPT. It was the third trip to a National Park site under this scheme.

Highlight of the day was a demonstration of flying by the birds under the control of Centre staff. Amongst the birds flying were a vulture and an owl; also two pelicans were also shown.
