Rebecca has been a student at Minerva for 2 years; she attends every Friday with our trained jewellery-making teacher, Kara. Together they make all kinds of jewellery using different mediums. Rebecca is currently experimenting with polymer clay to make purple and orange beads for a necklace after having found inspiration from various online images.
Volunteers, Sarah and Susan, also take part every Friday; theyre both being taught the craft of bead weaving and wire wrapping. Sarah is in the process of following an intricate bead woven pattern. Susan is focusing on creating a tree using a wire wrapping technique. One day they hope to teach these skills to others.
Teacher, Kara, is an accomplished jewellery maker and teacher; her teaching skills encompass the same delicate detail and patience essential to the craft. Kara has produced some beautiful bead woven tapestries over the years. We are so grateful to Kara for teaching her meticulous and creative talents to our students.
Free taster sessions are available every Friday for those interested in joining Kara’s Jewellery classes.
